Welcome, MacTech Solutions: Wichita Falls’ Apple Experts Since 1996

Full Service Review's newest member is MacTech Solutions, the Apple store and service center in Wichita Falls, Texas. MacTech has sold, fixed and supported Apple gear for Texoma homes and businesses since 1996, and today it's also a full managed IT provider for offices that run Macs, Windows PCs or a mix of both.

From a spare bedroom to Rhea Road

Terry McAdams started MacTech Solutions in 1996 in the spare bedroom of his home. At the time he was still in the U.S. Air Force, working as a computer network administrator and instructor at Sheppard Air Force Base, and he became the local "go-to guy" for anything Macintosh. He retired as a master sergeant in 2004, took the business full time and opened a retail store on Kemp Street.

Apple named MacTech an Apple Specialist in 2007, its designation for premier authorized resellers. When Apple retired that title, MacTech earned Value Added Reseller status in 2016. Since 2017 the store has been in The Finishing Touch Plaza at 4020 Rhea Road. MacTech says its Apple-authorized team has completed more than 25,000 repairs, for customers from across North Texas and Oklahoma.

What MacTech does

• Apple sales. Mac, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, Apple TV, HomePod, displays and accessories, plus AppleCare+ and Sonos.
• Apple Authorized Service. Certified repairs for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, AirPods and Beats, whether the device is under warranty, covered by AppleCare+ or out of warranty.
• Managed IT for businesses. Help desk support, monitoring and maintenance, cybersecurity, Microsoft 365 administration, backup and recovery, network and Wi-Fi management, Apple device management and technology planning. MacTech is a member of the Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program and offers remote support throughout Texas and Oklahoma.
• Flight Lessons. One-on-one sessions of 25 or 50 minutes with Apple-certified staff, covering anything from iCloud and the Camera app to parental controls.
• Trade-ins and recycling. Trade an old Mac, iPad or iPhone toward a new device or a gift card, or recycle old batteries and electronics at no cost.
• Financing. The MacTech Solutions Card from Synchrony offers no interest if paid in full within six months on qualifying purchases.

Security without the scare tactics

MacTech's business service starts with a conversation about your team and your current problems, not a one-size-fits-all package. Its security work focuses on the places small businesses are most exposed. That means protecting email and employee accounts against phishing and impersonation, setting up domain protections such as SPF, DKIM and DMARC, and having a documented plan for getting back to work after a deleted file, a hardware failure or a security incident. Terry also writes practical guides on the MacTech blog, including why every business needs an AI policy and how passkeys beat passwords.

The people behind the counter

MacTech is a family business. Terry is a teacher at heart, and plenty of customers know his voice from "Terry's Tech Minute" on 1290 AM. His wife and business partner, Lucy McAdams, runs accounting, ordering, payroll and marketing. Ken Marlin, who spent 26 years in the Air Force maintaining computerized systems and teaching at Sheppard, leads the repair bench. John Meador handles retail tech and sales support, and he's certified on every iPhone model. Terry and Lucy are members of the Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce and supporters of Leadership Wichita Falls.
