From First Call to First Cookout: How New Image and Concrete Amigos Make Concrete Easy

New Image Roofing & Construction · Benton, KS · ·

Most homeowners only pour concrete a few times in their lives. It's a big decision, and it's natural to wonder how it all works. Who measures? What happens to the yard? How long before you can drive on it?

New Image Roofing & Construction has been answering those questions for Wichita-area families since 2006. Its concrete team, Concrete Amigos, handles everything from small sidewalks to full driveways and backyard patios. Here's what the process looks like.

1. You reach out

Call, text or send a message through the website. Share a little about the project: a cracked driveway, a patio you've been dreaming about, a walkway to the back gate. Photos help, but they aren't required. The team responds quickly and sets up a time to see the space.

2. They visit and listen

The free estimate starts with a walk around the property. The crew measures, looks at how water drains, checks the slope and talks through how you plan to use the space. A patio for weekend cookouts needs different planning than a pad for a hot tub or a wider driveway for a work truck.

This is also the time to talk style. Broom finish, stamped stone, exposed aggregate, color: they'll show you the options and be honest about what fits your budget.

3. You get a clear estimate

The scope goes in writing, so you know what's included before any work begins. If something about the project needs a permit or city approval, such as work near the street, you'll hear about it up front.

4. They prepare the site

Good concrete starts underground. The crew removes old concrete if needed, excavates, builds and compacts a solid base and sets the forms. This step prevents cracking, sinking and puddles down the road, and it's where they take their time.

5. They pour and finish

On pour day, the crew places the concrete, levels it and applies your finish, whether that's a classic broom texture or a stamped pattern. They cut or tool control joints so the slab has planned places to move as it settles and goes through Kansas seasons, and they use a mix made for our climate, so it holds up to freeze-thaw cycles.

6. They clean up and hand it over

When the work is done, the crew cleans up the site. Before they leave, they tell you when you can walk on it, when you can drive on it and how to care for it through its first winter.

Why homeowners call them

New Image has completed more than 6,000 projects and served more than 3,000 homeowners since 2006. Concrete Amigos is locally owned, licensed, bonded and insured, with a crew that brings more than 20 years of combined experience.

One customer had their whole exterior remodeled, including a new roof and a new back patio, and wrote that Michael "was there every step of the way." That's the experience the team wants for every job, big or small.

And because New Image also handles roofing, stucco, decks, fencing and metal buildings, one local team can take on more than one project. A new patio and a pergola? A slab and a shop? They can plan it together.
