Wichita-Built Aircraft Components, Backed by Six Decades of Know-How

Aero Space Controls Corporation · Wichita, KS · ·

Wichita calls itself the Air Capital of the World, and Aero Space Controls has earned its place in that story. The company has designed and built aircraft components on North Mosley since 1965. It's independently owned, and it's built its reputation on four things: quality parts, competitive pricing, on-time delivery and real support after the sale.

If you're sourcing valves, actuators, motors, sensors, fans or air conditioning components for an aircraft program, here's what Aero Space Controls brings to the table.

What Aero Space Controls Builds

The company's full product line covers the systems that keep an aircraft moving, breathing and comfortable.

Actuators. Aero Space Controls produces linear and rotary actuators that control movement across the airframe. You'll find them on trim tabs, cowl flaps, louvers, duct butterflies, valve actuation and rudder pedal adjustment.

Shut-off valves. The company manufactures aircraft shut-off valves from 1 to 8 inches in diameter. They isolate systems, regulate pressure and support environmental control.

Check and solenoid valves. Its pneumatic valve line handles check, mixing, bleed air, temperature regulating and pressure regulating applications. It also builds vacuum system regulators and manual rate control valves.

Flow control valves. Aero Space Controls manufactures, overhauls and repairs the 1520T100 series flow control valve.

DC electric motors. The company's aircraft motors power actuators, air conditioning systems and flap positioning systems.

Air conditioning systems. Aero Space Controls designs and builds complete aircraft air conditioning systems and components. They cool the cabin, and they protect heat-sensitive onboard equipment.

Evaporators, blowers and temperature sensors. These ventilation and sensing components move conditioned air through the aircraft and feed cabin temperature data to the environmental controller.

Receiver dryers. The company makes lightweight air conditioning receiver dryers in a wide range of configurations, with options for plumbing ports, can volume, can diameter and refrigerant compatibility.

Services: From Concept to Installed Assembly

Aero Space Controls doesn't stop at building parts to print. Its services cover the whole life of a component.

Engineering design and development. The engineering team works with computer-aided design, modeling, engineering analysis and in-house test equipment. That means a project can move from concept to prototype under one roof.

System development. Because the company builds so many of the pieces itself, it can develop complete systems. Environmental control systems and control surface actuation are two of its strongest areas.

Production. The production floor handles complex aerospace work, including prototype builds, testing, flight simulation and calibration of pneumatic valves.

Upper level assembly. This is where customers save real time and money. Aero Space Controls combines its actuators, pneumatic valves, air conditioning components and DC motors into turnkey assemblies that are ready to install. You manage fewer part numbers, fewer purchase orders and less assembly labor.

Repair, overhaul and AOG support. The in-house repair station supports products in the field. The company often stocks exchange units, so an aircraft on the ground gets back in the air faster.

Credentials and Certifications

In aerospace, paperwork matters as much as parts. Aero Space Controls publishes its quality credentials openly, and each one tells a buyer something specific.

AS9100D certification. AS9100 is the quality management standard for aviation, space and defense. It builds on ISO 9001 and adds aerospace requirements for traceability, risk management, configuration control and product safety. Certification means an independent registrar audits the company's quality system on a regular schedule. Many primes and OEMs won't buy from a supplier without it.

FAA repair station certificate. The Federal Aviation Administration certifies repair stations under 14 CFR Part 145. This certificate authorizes Aero Space Controls to repair and overhaul components and return them to service on U.S.-registered aircraft.

EASA repair station certificate. The European Union Aviation Safety Agency approval extends that repair authority to aircraft operating under European rules. That's important for operators and fleets with European registrations.

UK CAA repair station approval. The United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority approval covers aircraft registered in the UK. Together with the FAA and EASA approvals, it gives Aero Space Controls repair authority across three of the world's major aviation regulators.

FAA drug and alcohol program. Certified repair stations performing safety-sensitive maintenance must run an FAA-compliant drug and alcohol testing program. Aero Space Controls maintains an approved program, which is one more signal that it operates to the standards regulators expect.

The company also publishes its quality policy, so customers know exactly what it commits to on every order.

Why Buyers Choose Aero Space Controls

Aero Space Controls has served the aerospace industry for more than 60 years. It designs, builds, assembles, tests and repairs under one roof. It holds AS9100D certification plus FAA, EASA and UK repair station approvals. And it's a Wichita company that answers the phone.
