Hosting Thanksgiving? DT's Outlet Has the Seats, the Stove and the Washer

Thanksgiving is five weeks out, and in a lot of Wichita houses that means the same two questions: where is everybody going to sit, and is the oven going to make it through the day? DT's Outlet on West Street has been answering both for more than 30 years, and the floor right now is stacked for it.

Seating for a full house

The furniture side of DT's is all brand new. Not used, not consignment. The family buys direct and skips the showroom markup, and passes the savings along. This month's floor includes a mint leather sofa and loveseat, a plush cream cloud sectional with a chaise, a big gray chaise sectional, a power reclining loveseat with a center console and cupholders, and a brown leather reclining loveseat, plus tables to go with them.

The appliances that do the holiday work

The appliance side is the other half of the store: quality used units that are tested, cleaned up and tagged before they hit the floor. The tags spell out the deal. A 90-day warranty that covers parts and labor, the price you'll actually pay, and how little it takes to start. When we walked the floor, a stainless Frigidaire gas range was tagged $450 with $150 down and $15 a week, a Whirlpool stainless fridge was $450, and a stainless Frigidaire electric range was $400. There are rows of washer and dryer sets too, including LG front-load pairs and stainless top-load sets.

Every photo below was taken on DT's actual floor. Inventory turns over fast, so something you see here may already be in somebody's living room.

Prices are as tagged when photographed and change as the floor turns over.

Making it easy before the holidays

• Payments: easy payment plans on furniture and appliances, and many tags read "$150 down takes it home."
• Delivery: anywhere in the Wichita metro, so a sectional doesn't have to ride home on the car roof.
• Pay your way: Cash App ($dtswest) and Venmo (@dtswest) work too.
• Call ahead: looking for something specific? Call 316-945-8866 and they'll tell you what's on the floor today.

Bring room measurements and doorway widths for furniture, and a photo of the old appliance's model tag if you're replacing one. Then sit on everything. A sofa feels different than it photographs.
