2027 Is the Year of Green. West & Co. Painting Shows How to Bring It Home Before the Holidays.

Every fall, the major paint companies announce the color they believe will shape the year ahead. For 2027, the message is clear: green is back, and it's warm, earthy and easy to live with.

Sherwin-Williams named Celery (SW 6421) its 2027 Color of the Year on September 15. Benjamin Moore followed on October 14 with Webster Green (HC-130). Those are the two brands West & Co. Painting relies on for quality results, so its customers have easy access to both. Behr also went green with Grounded, an earthy olive.

Why green, and why now

Green connects a home to nature. Soft, muted greens feel calm in a bedroom, fresh in a kitchen and cozy in a living room. They also pair well with the warm woods, natural stone and creamy whites many Wichita-area homes already have.

The best part is that these greens are flexible. A lighter green works on every wall of a room. A deeper green makes a beautiful accent wall, a statement front door or a striking set of kitchen cabinets.

Ways to try the 2027 colors

• An accent wall. One wall behind a bed, sofa or dining table is a low-commitment way to test a new color.
• Cabinets and built-ins. Painted cabinets can refresh a kitchen without a full remodel.
• A powder room or office. Small spaces are perfect for bold color.
• Trim and doors. A green door or painted trim adds personality without changing the whole room.

Get the house guest-ready

Thanksgiving is November 26, and the weeks before it are a great time to freshen up the rooms guests will see. Scuffed hallways, tired living rooms and dated guest rooms all look better with fresh paint. West & Co. crews clean up every day at quitting time, so the home stays livable while they work.

Exterior season is winding down

Exterior paint needs the right conditions to cure properly. Even low-temperature exterior paints are rated for application down to about 35°F, and surfaces need to stay warm enough as the paint cures overnight. Once Kansas nights turn consistently cold, exterior projects need to wait for spring. Interior painting works all winter long, which makes late fall the ideal time to move indoors.
